Post Images

Articles have built in support for an associated image. The image can be uploaded along with the Article submission. A thumbnail is built on-the-fly to be used in the Article, without any requirements from the user.

When the Article is displayed an automatic link is provided from the thumbnail to the full-sized image, which is displayed in a created-to-size pop-up window. Supported image types are limited to, and checked to be, GIF, jpg and PNG.

Post Re: Images

In 2.0 you can now have up to 2 uploaded images. The 1st is the same one as in version 1.0, it displays in the Intro and Headline/Home page listing, i.e. it's associated with the Intro text. The 2nd image only displays with the fully article, i.e. it is associated main Article text.

Also in 2.0 the image names are no longer preserved, but are replaced with a date/time numeric value. This allows easy support for non-Roman languages, e.g Arabic, plus avoids the prior problem of unintended name clashes. The date/time is stored in milliseconds so that you can upload both image at the same time, even on a very fast server, without getting a name collision.
