Pro_News 3.1 Available to Sponsors AND Registered Users!

As that seemed to go fairly well with just 1 reported error (fixed), I've now opened to all registered members.

(Please note 3.1 will NOT be released to everyone as yet as it contains Beta Code - until someone steps up to the plate to beta test the CPGNuCalendar interface.)

Thanks for this good news.

I obviously want to join to this Sponsor group. Would you like to add my account to this group? I've just uploaded "Indonesian Language File" for Pro_News version 3.0.0.1 a few minutes ago to the Download section of this website.

Actually, I made some modification to Pro_News 3.0.0.1:

1) Added new feature "Related Articles". I made this modification in original News module belongs to DF, by changing "Related Topics" to "Related Articles", then I implemented this feature to your Pro_News module. I modified in "Submit Article" page, so admin or user (client) can choose the article(s) related to the article they want to submit. And of course, this "Related Articles" link would be displayed in the bottom of an article.

2) Added pagination for Articles List in Admin Panel.

3) Added two lines in language file regarding modifications I made above (you can check it from the language file that I've just uploaded to your Download section).

Currently, my website is in "maintenance-mode" for a while since I have my plan like this: Before I change its mode to "running-mode", I really need this Pro_News 3.1, so I can incorporate the code changes I made to the Pro_News 3.1 and make sure my changes that I made will not conflict to this Pro News 3.1. Then, after that, I will post my code that I modified.

Or, any suggestion from you, layingback?

Just a question: Did you update the Submit Article templates (submit.html, plus all the html files in submit/)? Please be aware that these have all changed with 3.1. release to add a better format to the page, as well as adding the Calendar interface.

I will check the changes in Pro_News version 3.1, then I will try to incorporate my modified code in version 3.0.0.1 to the latest version 3.1.

Great! Also note that the individual default field names have been dropped from the list at the start of the language file for 3.1. (The corresponding code is changed so that only the input fields with title swill appear in the Submit screen.)

Sure. I will re-check the whole code in version 3.1 and compare with the 3.0.0.1 version in order to see the changes.

After that, I will try to change by using the clean install in the latest version 3.1, and starting incorporate my modified code to this latest version.

I hope this will be done before July 1, 2009 as I have plan to launch my website at that date.

You may be able to get away with an upgrade, even if you've added db files, and then just re-order them as necessary (to put yours after mine) before executing the code.... Worth a try, but make an export back up first

If you look at cpg_inst.php you'll see there aren't a lot of db changes in 3.1.
