Linking to forums not working
Linking to forums not working
ارسل: الخميس نوفمبر 10, 2011 4:57 am
I just set up a new site at 1fsac.com. When I add an article, the corresponding forum post is not created and clicking on the "discuss this" link in the article gets the following error
includes/db/db.php
CMS Warning line 75: On /Pro_News/discuss=1.html While executing query "SELECT auth_post, auth_reply FROM 1fsac_bbforums WHERE forum_id =3" the following error occured: Table 'a1fsacco_dragonfly.1fsac_bbforums' doesn't exist In: /home/a1fsacco/public_html/modules/Pro_News/functions.php on line: 2794
My config is as follows
Dragonfly 9.3.2.0
Pro News 3.3.3
ForumsPro 2.0.3
In Pro_News config I have ForumsPro Only (default install) . Category is set to section default and the section is set to link General Discussion

Hi, I've looked at this, but so far have not found got a satisfactory recreation of the problem. Something changed between DF 9.2.1 and 9.2.3 which stopped comments working with CPG-BB Forums. It appears that the fix I applied for that has stopped comments working with ForumsPro. As you point out the problem is it did not create the initial record in ForumsPro. I suspect it tried to write it to CPG-BB Forums.
I have put v3.3.3 on hold until I get to the bottom of this.
I have discovered another issue with 3.3.3 which you can easily fix by removing the // in columns 1 and 2 of line 1857 of modules/Pro_News/functions.php
Sorry for the inconvenience!

I think you're right.
When I look at my sections in the admin panel, it reads "cpg-bb Forum" in the Discuss column and not ForumsPro.

You can try editing it again, and then check immediately after. (The values in the edit fields aren't being preset correctly, so if you edit without setting the forum again, then it gets reset to CPG-BB Forums.)

Sorry for the delay. It required a whole new development configuration to replicate your exact case, and with my dev setup ForumsPro won't install - except manually.
I almost have that done now, and I'm homing in on the recreation I think.
But in the mean time it occurs to me that the following workaround may work if you'd like to give it a try:
Set Config to Multiple Forums rather than just ForumsPro.
Then in Sections (and/or Categories if applicable) reselect the respective forums for each Section. You'll now have both Forums and ForumsPro ones to pick from. But otherwise everything else remains the same.
Let me know if that workaround is successful please. But I'll still try to find the underlying issue with ForumsPro Only.

I set multiple forums in the config as suggested.
I found that if I changed from cpg-bb and set the ForumsPro forum to use when creating a new section, no section would be created when I hit Save.
If I left it set to the default cpg-bb with no forum assigned, the section would be created. Then I would edit the new section and change it to the correct ForumsPro forum the articles now link properly
