issues with some themes and pro news on homepage

Ok I have been trying to figure out how to fix it myself but Im not sure what i need to add where. I have some issues where certain themes make the news story on the ront page unreadable because of the back ground image for the site.

How do I add it so it uses the backgrounds the rest of the center blocks are using? If I dont make any sense lol which I usually dont you can view my website at dauntless.flippyhosting.com one of the themes I am having a issue with is cpg-news you can preview it in the theme changerand see what i mean.
