layingback Store Opening
Yes, you read that correctly, I'm opening a small template store here at layingback.net.
The Template Exchange concept never really worked out, so I'm closing that forum. [ At least I don't have to archive the 0 themes which have accumulated there!

I'm a long time supporter of RMS (Stallman) and his GNU GPL2 and later, so rest assured that Pro_News is and will remain F/OSS: Free Libre Open Source Software. And staying with GPL2 until or unless DragonflyCMS goes GPL3. But in the meantime I need some coin to rub together, so I have come up with additional themes myself. _PNMORE ...

Demo of the "Featured Content" Slider
A screen shot of the final version of the (future) Featured Content Slider is on the left, but you can test out a live version in the demo below. (Click read more to view.) This Slider was created by simply selecting a Photo Album, as previously, and using a brand new template. No changes to the Submit Article user interface at all. Now, instead of the Photo Album images appearing as separate images on the page as before, they appear in a single Slider. No formating or anything else special for the submitter to do! _PNMORE ...
Featured Content Template
As any of you who've been following will know, I wanted to add a "Featured Content" like display into Pro_News. (If you don't know what I mean by Featured Content, then do a search on DragonflyCMS for the post by greenday2k, or take a look at the original developers Dynamic Drive.)
Anyway, I've got it working, see screen capture alongside. Note this is ENTIRELY done in Pro_News template, no change to Pro_News code at all. A strong vindication as to the power of Pro_News templates! _PNMORE ...

Pro_News 3.1 Now Available to Sponsors & Members
Just to let everyone know that the latest and greatest Pro_News is now available, initially just for Sponsors, but now for all Registered Members
A lot of small but useful enhancements mostly, the sort of thing which makes building and running the site easier, even if you can't actually put your finger on exactly what changed. Most every annoyance I found when building Pro_News centric websites have been addressed, all minor though I must say, along with all the enhancements requested.
Plus the Submit Article screen has been made much more approachable. _PNMORE ...
