Join In the Development

I did not set out to develop this version of Pro_News. I latched on to Kuragari's Pro_News Beta as a suitable Article- (versus News Story- ) based module. I managed to get that early Beta version running under Dragonfly 9.0.6.1 (not realising at the time that it was developed under 9.1.x!), and implemented it in a couple of Production websites. Then discovered that Kuragari's priorities had shifted, and Pro_News release version wasn't likely to appear in the near term... more ...
Share Your Pro_News Article Templates

I'm quite impressed with my IndexSP templates, but the other 2 are pretty mundane (too much of my time focussed on the Pro_news code). So if and when you develop new improved Article Templates for Pro_News, please - in the spirit of Pro_News GNU GPL development - consider releasing your template to share with others.
Please announce (and post using the Code bbcode button) your new, modified, improved Article Template.
TIA!

Please Help with Translations of Pro_News

I have taken Language support for Pro_news as far as I am able. I've moved every textual literal (I think/hope) to the pro_news english language file. I've also implemented multilingual support along the same lines as News - so that articles can be submitted in more than 1 language, with the appropriate article display under general user control via the CPG-Nuke Dragonfly Language option.
But my linguist skills run to English and American! So if anyone wishes to translate to other languages, I'm sure other users would be grateful. more ...

Want a New Website? We'll Develop a Website that You can Maintain
You want a new/replacement website?
But these questions - or ones very much like them - are at the forefront of your mind?
But these questions - or ones very much like them - are at the forefront of your mind?
- You are through with "static" websites which never change, and seem to go "out of date" almost overnight?
- But you simply can't afford to always have someone on staff - or on contract - to keep your website up-to-date for you?
- And you yourself simply don't have the time, inclination or even the skill to build the sort of website that you really want for yourself?
- But you worry that if you don't build it yourself, how are you possibly going to know how to change it yourself?

Latest Article Footer
Been a while - but I just wanted to highlight the very latest generalized article footer, by posting to the Blog.
The latest footer includes all 72 Social Network icons, but most are hidden behind a 'click to show' link so that your page will look clean and minimalist. 3 icons - facebook, MySpace and twitter - are always on display, but you can easily switch those in the HTML for any icons that you wish. It also includes icon links to Printer-Friendly and Send to a Friend, plus a simple icon display for posting or reading comments, with a different icon if Comments already exist.
Additionally there is a PermaLink link (Pro_News doesn't change the links in the way that some other systems do, but the presence of a PermaLink helps to reinforce that). And the very latest addition is a link to the QR 2D Code for the page as an alternate to the PermaLink. more ...

DragonflyCMS Templates
As some of you may be aware, with Pro_News I've pushed the Dragonfly Template system, a variant of the SMARTY system in PHP I'm led to understand, pretty far.
I've templated pretty much everything, except repetitive lists. You might be surprised to learn that I've even added templates to the Submit Article Input screens. The reason is that you can then easily customise those Submit Article screens to remove any unneeded input fields for certain classes of users.
But slowly I discover other things which can be accomplished in the template system. Although unfortunately inserting comments isn't one of them, so the process is a slow one.
But I thought you might be interested in a new template which I've built for my own use, which adds an active graphic. Active in that it is generated entirely within the template based on 2 supplied values.
It even has an extra flourish when the goal amount is reached/exceeded! more ...

Deep User Menu Levels
I hate menus. I like what menus do, keep access to a large array of selections in a small neat package. But I hate how those menus are usually used. more ...
